This might explain the problem.

No, this is NOT the difference.
There is NO difference between compiled and interpreted code, if the
interpreted code runs with "-b" option ( see my original mail ), so there
is NO graphical X11 window opened.
The problem comes only with the interpreted code without "-b", in this
case there IS a graphical X11 window opened ( actually two, if I remember
well ).
