Facing this limitation at STAR we wrote out our own one to
keep (wrap) a reallocatable array of any C-structure (not only
simplest "float", "int" whatsoever etc etc.)

You are welcome to have a look at:

It does contain:

void St_Table::ReAllocate(Int_t newsize)

May be it helps.
