no root prompt

Dear Rooters

I download the latest version of ROOT of HP10.20 with CC compiler, and
type 'root'. The small square 'ROOT' window popup as usual. But when it
disappeared, no ROOT prompt appeared. The program return to normal Unix
prompt again, e.g.

** ceres:bin> root
** ceres:bin>

but it should be :

** ceres:bin> root
** root>

Could you tell me what's wrong with my ROOT ?
