Debian Linux includes the highly touted Debian Package Management system.
Software package upgrades are a snap. Using a database of software
packages, a new application is reviewed prior to installation for additional
packages that need to be available. Previous versions which may cause a
conflict are also reviewed. The Debian Software Packaging system eliminates
problems associated with installing and uninstalling related software. In
addition, software can be updated easily through FTP from the Debian Linux
FTP site on the Internet. Debian has become very popular in a short period
